THINGS TO DO IN MONTREAL
Montreal is a beautiful city to explore, especially in the summer! If you have the opportunity to experience it outside of our wedding, we highly encourage you to do so! Whethere you love nature, music, architecture, food, or just want to sit back and sip on a coffee Europe-style, there is guaranteed to be something for everyone!

The Classic Sights
Old Montreal & the Old Port — Cobblestone streets, 18th century architecture, and the St. Lawrence River waterfront. The most scenic part of the city and steps from our venue.
Mount Royal — Hike or take a cab to the top for a panoramic view of the entire city. Especially beautiful in mid-September as the leaves begin to change colour.
Notre-Dame Basilica — One of the most breathtaking church interiors in North America.
Plateau-Mont-Royal — Wander the neighbourhood's colourful staircases, browse independent boutiques, and grab coffee at one of dozens of charming cafés. The most distinctly Montreal neighbourhood in the city.
Mile End — The creative heart of Montreal. Home to Fairmount Bagel, incredible delis, and a thriving arts scene. A very walkable neighbourhood full of character.

Food and Drink
Montreal Smoked Meat - Schwartz's Deli has Montreal's most legendary smoked meat sandwich, open since 1928.
Montreal Style Bagels - St-Viateur Bagel has Montreal bagels that are wood-fired, hand-rolled, and open 24 hours.
Coffee - Café Parvis is a stunning space in a converted neo-Gothic church downtown. Great for brunch or a casual evening drink.
Speakeasies - Montreal has one of the best speakeasy scenes in North America with great options like The Coldroom, Cloakroom Bar, and Atwater Cocktail Club.
Ivana's Favourite - Stash Café is a Polish restaurant in Old Montreal with great shareable dishes.

Hidden Gems
Marché Atwater — A beautiful indoor/outdoor market with local produce, Quebec cheeses, charcuterie, and flowers. Far less touristy than Marché Jean-Talon and equally wonderful.
Vintage Shopping — Mile End & Boulevard Saint-Laurent (AKA "The Main") are the main shopping hubs, offering everything from quirky finds to high-end pieces.
St Helen's Island - An island park in the St. Lawrence River filled with walking paths through forests and greenspaces with ideal vantage points for views of downtown Montreal across the river.
The Wiggle Room - One of only 3 full-time burlesque and cabaret venues in North America with new shows and fun themes every week. Another one of Ivana's favourites!

Weekend-of Events
2026 UCI Road World Championships — This is the most significant sports event in Montreal since the 1976 Summer Olympics. From September 20 to 27, cycling fans can watch 13 separate time trials and road races completely free, with fan zones set up along the race route throughout the city.
TEMPÉO Dance and Music Festival —Five free dance nights featuring funk, Eastern pop, country music, Afro-pop, and salsa — right on the Esplanade at Place des Arts! This outdoor open-air dance festival features professional dance instructors and live music.
